The top tourist attractions in Rosario Islands or Islas del Rosario are scattered across its 30 islands and the waters around them. Together they form an archipelago which belongs to one of the 46 Natural National Parks of Colombia. The park encompasses 120,000 hectares of waters with depths of up to 50 ft. It covers several coral reefs including those west from Barú Island, Maravilla Islands, Mucura, Nuestra Señora del Rosario, Rosario, San Bernardo, and Tesoro. In addition to the extensive coral reefs that it protects, the national park was also designated to protect associated ecosystems like mangroves, sea grass, and the marine life that inhabits.
